I've created a utility that might be of interest to you.
Where Microsoft gives you only the power to drag windows from place to place, WinZen lets you arrange them in various hihg-level ways. For example, you can snap windows against any edge or into any corner, individually or in groups. You can fill any edge of the screen. You can evenly divide the entire screen or just a portion of it amongst any number of windows, horizontally or vertically. There are several more functions available.
